My Friday Routine

My Friday routine starts with a quick stop in the kitchen to grab a fruit - usually a banana, because it is my favorite fruit - then fill up my water bottle, get coffee in my travel mug and out of the door. On my way to the kids' school I listen to the radio, I like the Touch FM radio station for it provides snippets of current news and entertaining interesting information and uplifting music. After dropping the kids off I stop at either Spar, because it opens at 7am or the service station with the Wimpy Store, on days that I don't make coffee at home, I get my favorite mega cappuccino and the Namibian newspaper. I love the cappuccino at Wimpy, they make the best.

Upon arriving at the office, I open the window, my desk is facing the window and I love the fresh breeze on my face and hearing the sounds of birds chirping while I open the newspaper and enjoy the coffee. I read my paper in silence, highlighting phrases and quotes worth noting in my journal. I love Friday's paper because it usually has the sum up of the week's news and some interesting stories of the ghost writers that I like.

The first hour of my Friday morning I spend reading the paper, enjoying my coffee, checking off my weekly to-do list and planning for the following week. I can't do anything without planning before the hustle and bustle of the day.

Once I am done with the first section of the morning, I am ready to face anything during the rest of the day. I usually don't work myself in the ground on Fridays. I prefer my out of office meetings on Fridays from 10am or from lunch time, that way I can go straight home. While others dress down on Fridays, I like to dress up because of the meetings.

Otherwise, Fridays are for report writing and planning. Nothing major.
